Congratulations to the Photography World™ Contest WINNER Krishnan Kalpat! He is awarded the grand prize of $100!
I chose Krish’s photograph “Melodies of Monsoon” as winner of the Let There Be Light contest for several reasons.
This winning image really tells a story of change and hope—the light from the window and sepia tones with slight brush strokes of gray-blue in the sky above her head—speak to the changing circumstances in life. That even the rain upon the window is not a constant, as we know. The rain might at first appear to be sad, but here in this photograph, the young person has a slight smile. She is not afraid. Youth represents our hope and future.
His subject is playing violin, so it is a portrait of action instead of being passive. Can you hear the music? I wonder what she might be playing…
